Dear St Ives Member,
It’s that time of year again when I typically write to you and communicate the dues increase for the coming year. Guess what? This year the Board of Directors has prepared a plan and budget for the coming year that provides for NO DUES OR FEES INCREASES TO THE MEMBERSHIP! Over the past several years the Board and Management have worked diligently to reduce operating expenses even while costs of goods have continued to increase. Relatedly, management has evaluated all levels of costs and services to meet or exceed membership expectations at controlled cost levels. I thank all members for their patience and acceptance of the changes made over the past several years. It has made our club financially stronger. We are investing capital in our Club as reflected in the renovation of the Main Level entrance and dining facilities. I personally would like to thank our entire staff for the diligent work they have completed to keep the Club’s financial position strong at a time when other clubs are struggling.
As you may know, March 31 was the last day of our fiscal year. While we continue to “close the books” on this year, preliminary results indicate that we had excellent financial performance. The PGA event was a factor in this but even without the PGA income we operated “in the black”. That performance is something we should all be quite proud of!!
We are continuing to work to make our Club stronger and “You Can Help”! – With regards to member retention and new members, we need your continued commitment and assistance. Your referral of new members to St Ives will help us stay healthy and strong. Our Membership Committee has put together some great programs to attract new members and you will receive some super rewards for your referrals. Additionally, your involvement and utilization of St Ives for your dining, drinking and sports enjoyment is important to our continued strong performance.
